Growing up under the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Kincade sisters took different paths in life. Susan, on the left, found a rewarding career in higher education and Robin broke into the film business and created her own company. Now they have come together to bring you this online series on how to break into the film industry as a Film Production Assistant.

Two Sisters with different lives

Robin Kincade, Producer/Host

 

Robin has worked in the media since the late 1970’s. In 1990 she opened her own company, Kincade & Company in Sacramento, California starting as a freelance Film Production Assistant. Building her business over the last 3 decades in the Bay Area and Northern California, she’s been based out of San Francisco, California working as a Producer, Photographer and Location Professional. Robin has worked on projects both nationally & internationally, ranging from documentaries, corporate projects, cable networks, reality TV, commercials, sporting & live events.

 

Winning the prestigious COLA Award (California On Location Award) in 2015 for best in documentary category, Robin brings her experience, stories and common sense to life in this course. Her ‘real world’ approach provides you insider information that can help you break into the business and be successful in your new career. Susan Kincade, Educator

 

Susan has worked in higher education for over 30 years.  She started at California State University, Fresno and after 18 years went to the California Community College system.  She worked ten years at West Hill Community College District, where she helped develop online degree programs. In 2012 she became Vice President of Instruction at Modesto Junior College.

Two Sisters Come Together Again

 

After living such different lives, the Kincade sisters have come together to help people find their careers. Robin brings the energy, experience and face of Kincade Productions, and Susan is the ‘detail person’ behind the scenes. Their only goal is to show people, serious about wanting to ‘break into’ the business of film and video, that they can start by becoming a production assistant, no degree required just bring your brain.
