“I know in our district when I came in, there wasn't a lot of money given to art. I need my students to have more than just what this budget allows me. So I went and wrote for grants, I went and found different ways just to have that support. And when Prop 28 came along, that was like, hey, you don't need to do all this running around anymore, because of that money, I'm able to go and buy those tools that I need, get the supplies for my students anytime.”

When I first heard about the course, I instantly knew that there was something different about this that others didn't have. I come from a background where we're always talking about the arts and creativity, and how to make a good movie, but this one is actually telling you how to make a movie. It's like how to be responsible, how to handle yourself on the set.

Skills Developed Across All Arts Disciplines

Production Assistants are essential across a wide range of creative industries—including film, theater, stagecraft, broadcast, music, and dance. This entry-level role serves as a gateway into all of these artistic pathways.

Dr. William Henshaw, Redwood High School, Visalia, CA

“I think this program is universal. A lot of the skill sets that students will learn are transferable to different types of programs, whether it be film, broadcasting, theatrical, a musical show, and other industries that have the need for someone to be at that production assistant entry-level job. Through this amazing program, my students have had a lot of career exploration through the various career opportunities the production assistant will offer them.”

“There are no other courses that I have found that are anything close to Kincade Productions. The course, it's real life and I've never really found anything else that the kids have watched and taken quizzes on, and been able to walk away with it.”

One of a kind course

Kevin Clifton, Media Academy Teacher, McLane High School, Fresno, CA

“I haven’t seen anything else like this because I just don’t think it’s out there. When I first started going through it, I just could not believe how much time and effort was put into it. Everything is shot beautifully. The interviews are fantastic. There's a colorful cast of characters that are involved here that have a tremendous amount of production experience, and they talk to the students as if they really want them to get jobs in the industry.”
